Nitrendipine is a new type of antihypertensive drug. Its chemical name is nifedipine and it is a dihydropyridine derivative. Its antihypertensive effect is similar to that of nifedipine, but it is more effective in reducing blood pressure and has a longer-lasting effect, up to 15 hours.

Chemical properties:

Yellow crystal or crystalline powder, odorless and tasteless. Easily deteriorates when exposed to light. Easily soluble in acetone or chloroform, slightly soluble in methanol or ethanol, almost insoluble in water.

Usage:

The second generation calcium antagonist is an ideal drug for the treatment of hypertension. It has significant and lasting antihypertensive and vasoconstrictive effects. It is suitable for various types of hypertension, such as primary and secondary mild and moderate hypertension, and can also be used for coronary heart disease, congestive heart failure, etc.

production method:

The condensation of m-nitrobenzaldehyde and ethyl acetoacetate under acid catalysis gives 2-(3-nitrobenzylidene) ethyl acetoacetate. Place 2-(3-nitrobenzylidene)acetoacetate ethyl ester and 3-aminobutenoic acid methyl ester in a Soxhlet extractor flask, add absolute ethanol, and put filter paper into the siphon of the Soxhlet extractor. Molecular sieve, heated to reflux in a water bath for 4 hours, and then left overnight. The precipitated crystals were filtered and recrystallized with 5 times the amount of absolute ethanol to obtain pure nitrendipine, with a melting point of 158-159°C and a yield of 90.8%. If molecular sieves are not used, the yield is 86.1%.
